TX Attorney General Opinion. Truck Weight Enforcement

In KP-0245 there was a question about how local law enforcement can enforce truck weight enforcment. Here’s the big picture:

• Maybe there is some confusion, but its likely the Transportation Code Chapters 621 & 251 governs, so follow those rules
• Local Law enforcment has to be authorized by TXDOT
• TXDOt can also revok local law enforcement authority
