What is happening? Everyday a new entity names a new high-level position for diversity equity and inclusion. They all have big tasks ahead of them. So, how do they get to it?
Why is this important? To advance DEI, we need to get comfortable with being uncomfortable so that people can share their experiences freely. Second, we need representation in CSuites and on corporate boards that reflect diversity, equity and inclusion. Finally, we need to build personal relationships with employees and stakeholders.
How will this be important? 2021 saw the most diverse S&P 500 Board class. 47% of all new board members were from historically excluded racial or ethnic groups.
