Wholesale cannabis tax rate

Michigan has added a new tax for cannabis. Meet the 24% cannabis wholesale tax on recreational cannabis. This new wholesale tax is on top of the 10% retail excise tax and standard sales tax.

Supporters say the tax revenue will fund roads and other services. Opponents say the tax will grow black market sales. 

We talked about a similar situation in California, where the state lowered cannabis taxes because high tax rates pushed sales to illegal sales.
