Unconstitutional divestment statute

In 2021 Texas passed SB 13 that prohibited state funds to companies that took what was seen as an anti-fossil fuel stance. The Comptroller maintained a list. The list included large investment companies and others. This week a district court ruled that SB 13 is unconstitutional under the 1st amendment protecting nonviolent (economic) protest, and the 14th for being unconstitutionally vague.

For the legal types- the court ruling was on a summary judgment motion, as in the other side (the state) didn’t do enough.
