Truth in Taxation impact axes 95 tax increases

Utah has a Tax Commission that holds hearings to review and approve local tax increases. As of late, 39 local tax increases, totaling $80 million in local tax revenue, have been denied by the Commission.

In prior years, the Commission advised local entities to improve their compliance with state laws, and now the commission acts with strict enforcement. Hello, Texas, wouldn’t some like strict compliance with state approval of local tax increase compliance?
