Taxing online gaming purchases

I’m not an online gamer, but I know that gamers can buy things in a game to enhance their gaming experience. Colorado is proposing to tax those purchases.

House Bill 1148 includes a 5% fee on add-on transactions within a game. The fees is estimated to generate over $20 million annually for public education, according to a state estimate.
