@APnews reports that a new Gallup poll says 45% of adults identify as independent. It’s ok if you’re bad at math, 45% means that nearly half of all adults in the U.S. are rejecting the Republican and Democratic parties.

20 years ago, about 1/3 of adults identified as independent.
