Oklahoma open primary initiative

Oklahoma State Question 836 will ask voters to decide whether Oklahoma should have open primaries. Conversations to make this switch began 10 years ago. 

If you’re like me, you are wondering why a traditionally red state will make this move?   Supporters in Oklahoma point out that California became even more of a one party state after approving open voters.
