New Hampshire state leaders are looking at expanded nuclear power to improve affordability for ratepayers. The Department of Energy hosted stakeholder sessions. There’s a September 2026 deadline for a plan; an Executive Order from the Governor; and a joint statement championing nuclear power from neighboring Governors.
The talk behind the scenes: nuclear won’t benefit ratepayers the way the state hopes. Some say New Hampshire is unique because it is “a net exporter of energy, generating more within its borders than residents and businesses use.”
