Meet the new kid: AI for oil, gas, & petrochemicals

Bonjour, Applied Computing. Applied Computing is working on a foundation AI model, Orbital, that will help oil, gas, and petrochemical facilities. The goal is to “to combine the sensor readings, engineering documentation, and physics and chemistry quickly enough to analyze and make predictions.”

The AI model “combines a time series model, a physics-based model, and a language model to predict the state of a facility.” In layman’s terms, this isn’t the AI in the headlines right now.
