State license for fortune telling

If you want to tell fortunes in Massachusetts, it requires a state license. It also applies to psychics. To talk about the great beyond with customers also has a 12 month residence requirement before a license can be granted. 

The Legislature has not successfully removed this outmoded law. Here is what State Representative Susannah Whipps says, “To be honest, there is not a very active or powerful fortune-teller lobby in the state that I know of, so there hasn’t been a big push to get this over the finish line.”
