Data center definition. Writing laws.

Missoula, Montana adopted a new definition of data center before legislative action in 2027. Missoulas old definition was base don computing space per square foot.

The new definition relies on what the facility does, and not how much space is dedicated to computing. The definition includes language about how the data center  processes data for third parties for off-site use and not part of the enterprise.

This definition is said to effectively block new data centers until the Legislature acts.
